Some of my embroideries are stitch samplers and experiments with paint and thread, different techniques or 'playing' with fabrics and could not be classed as part of the various 'Collections'. Some examples:

'Impressions of a Monet garden'
This work uses a variety of isolated stitches and motifs with the size of the stitching creating texture and density. Shisha mirrors and beads give extra texture. Mounted and framed. On exhibition at the St. magnus Cafe, Kirkwall, Summer 2012
A piece where all stitches are variations of cross-stitch. Different fabrics are used to suggest land, rocks and water which are appliqued onto a scrim background by the cross stitches. Beads have been used to enhance the tumbling and splashing water. Mounted on card with fabric backing and hanging hook. 18 cm x 21 cm.
The wild grain of a yew plank expresed in canvas work using a variety of stitches and threads. The backing is a photograph of a yew tree printed onto fabric and stitched to scrim. Mounted on board with fabric backing and hangin loop made integral with stitching.
'Starry Night Enhanced'
This began as a computer manipulated image of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. The background is dyed and painted cotton and the kaleidoscopic image is stitched with a variety of yarns and threads. 39 x 32 cm unframed.

A cushion cover, 43 cm x 51 cm with zipped top made using strip patchwork in fabric and ribbon with hand embroidery, stumpwork, shadow and stuffed quilting. Border and back in plain brown cotton polyester.
'Casting Pearls Before Swine'
Quilted cushion in cotton with applique, beading and embroidery. Small pearl beads are used along with embroidered names of some 'pearls, such as Dickens, Shakespeare, Mozart and Van Gogh. The cushion cover fastens at the back with three large buttons. The cushion pad is removable.
18inch square cushion with applique daisies and button detail. fastens at the back pillowcase style, pad removable.
Quilted cushion with padded applique sheep and and names of breeds in hand embroidery. Cotton front with polyester silk back, fastening at the back with two horn buttons.
Quilted cushion with tapestry panel. Cotton cover. Tapestry 100% wool. Cushion pad removable.
Brooch or pincushions.
The first, 20 cm x 11.5 cm in blackwork and the second, with 15 cm sides in Italian quilting. and the third is a small Easter bonnet.

'Artist Trading Cards'
At 7 cm x 9 cm, these little embroideries were made and given as gifts, but similar pieces can be commissioned .
